A huge schools
dragon procession will meander
through the streets of Hay
accompanied by minstrels and
cheering crowds.
This is a time even before the dinosaur was invented, when the islands of Britain lay in the hands of King Lludd. His kingdom plagued by famine, strange invading races and blood curdling screams that cracked the deepest valleys and made lakes to boil. This is a time of Dragons! A plague of Dragons!
Advised by his wise brother, the king must rid his kingdom of dragons by finding the very centre of his kingdom (probably Hay-on-Wye!) and there lay a trap; a deep pit lined with a silken cloth and baited with a vast cauldron of Herefordshire’s finest golden mead.
At midday on the 27th October the young dragons will gather for their annual scary fair. Unwittingly they will be led in their scary revelry around the town towards the magic cauldron. Suddenly all will end as they are TRAPPED by King Lludd, bundled up and buried far away beneath the wild mountains of Wales not to be disturbed for 500 years!!!!
